Wisconsin - Milk Prices

June Milk prices


Wisconsins June milk price is expected to average $21.00 per hundredweight (cwt.). This price is $2.10 higher than Mays price of $18.90 per cwt. and $6.00 more than June 2010. The expected U.S. milk price for June is $21.00 per cwt. This is up $1.40 from May and is the same as Wisconsins price. All of the major milk producing states are predicting a price increase from May to June. California is expecting the largest increase in price, from $17.98 per cwt. in May to $20.40 in June. The second and third largest increases are predicted to be in Minnesota and Wisconsin, respectively. Minnesotas price is anticipated to rise $2.20 per cwt. to $21.60. Texas is expecting the lowest price increase, rising only 30 cents per cwt. from May to June. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) 40-pound block cheese price closed at $2.1300 per pound on June 29, while barrels were $2.0875 per pound. The CME butter price was $2.0300 per pound. For the week ending June 18, 2011 the National Agricultural Statistics Service U.S. weekly 40-pound block cheese price averaged $1.9514 per pound, and 500 pound barrels adjusted to 38 percent moisture averaged $1.9924 per pound. The U.S. butter price was $2.1188 per pound. The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Class III price for June will be released on July 1.
