NAME: LUCIO CHUA TAN SR.

HOW DID HE STARTED?


In one of his early jobs, he worked as a janitor in
a cigarette factory before his promotion to
tobacco “cook,” regulating the product mix. In
1966 Tan started his own tobacco company,
Fortune Tobacco Corp.

CHALLENGES

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES THAT THEY HAVE DONE

Asia Brewery Inc. founded by LT Group used recycled materials to ensure that
nothing will be wasted or thrown away, including powdered glass wastes, for it
will be a good use in concrete in the company's Cabuyao, Laguna plant's
sidewalks and walkways.

Lucio C. Tan Legacy Forest Project's advocacies has helped the government's
reforestation efforts by planting hundreds of hectares and generating jobs for
indigenous people.

In 2019 LFP, in collaboration with PNB Life insurance Inc., started the Green
Canopy Project with the goal of planting 12 million trees along the Sierra Madre
mountains in Luzon.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES THET THEY'RE STILL DOING

Under ABI, in 2016, they started a mission with the goal of planting 1 million trees a
year with a cumulative target of 8.4 million trees by 2020.

Tan Yan Kee Foundation pledges to support LT Companies for helping Filipino people
in areas of education, culture, sports, research, health, social welfare, and manpower
development.

Lucio C Tan personally wants to achieve a better Education and that's what drove him
to create more scholarships and education-related programs.

LT group also addresses the health and social welfare of his Filipino fellowmen by
giving medicines and health services in far areas especially, the calamity-prone areas
in the Philippines.

They also make sure the daily needs of citizens like food and water by restoring
dams and ensuring a steady supply of water for rice and crops.

HOW DID HE STARTED?
He started becoming a lawyer. He got his
masters of law degree in Yale University. He
held a position becoming a Network's board
director and took it as a challenge to strive for
excellence

CHALLENGES
entered the broadcasting industry with little
knowledge of the field
people doubted thinking he wouldn’t achieve
anything being in such a field of industry since
he is a law graduate

Having a mindset and training in becoming a professional. Persevering

should do in managing his business

it come to business
