WHEREAS, the Local Government Code of 1991 other national laws and memoranda mandates all
Local Government units organized the local special bodies, boards, council and other advisory groups in
their respective locality;
WHEREAS, such organization shall not only assist the local government in the planning and
implementation of development programs, but as well as recommend social policies to further improve
development intervention.
WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 06 provides for the reorganization and creation of the Barangay
Peace & Order Council at Barangay level.
SECTION 1. COMPOSITION. The Reorganization of Barangay Peace & Order Council (BPOC) shall be
composed of the following:

a. Initiate, coordinate and monitor the implementation of peace and order programs and projects at
the Barangay level;
b. Serve as an info- gathering mechanism pertaining to peace and order
c. Monitor and check the nefarious activities of criminal elements
d. Supervise Barangay Tanods in identifying Barangay Constituent with strong deviant behaviour for
referral to appropriate authorities
e. Maintain continuing dialogue ,close coordination and rapport with the City or Municipal POC, the
city or Municipal management coordinating committee and the law enforcement units operating in
the Barangay.
f. Undertake periodic assessment of the prevailing peace and order situation in the Barangay and
submit a report with appropriate recommendations to the city/Municipal POC; and
g. Perform such other functions which may assigned by higher POCs.
SECTION 3: MEETINGS
The Barangay Peace and Order Council (BPOC) shall meet at least once a month or as often as it
may deem necessary to discuss issues and concerns and look for possible solutions to the problem that
may arise.
