Guru is Shiva without his three eyes, Vishnu without his
four arms Brahma without his four heads. He is parama
Shiva himself in human form. -Brahmanda Purana

GAYATRI MANTRA
In Sanskrit, “gu” means darkness, and “ru” means one who
removes. So, a “guru” is one who removes your darkness. It is
Gyatri Mantra one whose mere presence emanates so much light, so much
love, so much divinity, that every darkness within you is
alchemically changed into light. And there is no darkness too
dark for a guru. Their light can shine through and transform
even the darkest darkness. Even the darkness of midnight would
last but a second if the sun decided to rise 6 hours early. This is
the power a guru has.

What is Guru Purnima?

he full moon day in the Hindu month of Ashad (July-August) is observed as
the auspicious day of Guru Purnima, a day sacred to the memory of the
great sage Vyasa. All Hindus are indebted to this ancient saint who edited the
four Vedas, wrote the 18 Puranas, the Mahabharata and the Srimad Bhagavata.
