PHILOSOPHY

1. What is reality?

Reality refers to things in life that are commonly observed and verified to exist, as well as things that
are consistent and not influenced by conformity or mass hysteria. Something that the senses perceive as
real and physically experience. Reality is commonly defined as a substance that exists in the external
world. Being real means existing without the need to be proven to exist. If it's real, it's just real.

2. How can we attain the truth of the reality?

Simply providing factual evidence and understanding that reality has its own universal existence, or
simply reminding ourselves that reality is what happens around us and the truth is based on our actions
and the consequences of those actions. We can also attain the truth of the reality by asking question.
Asking questions seems to drive creativity. It cultivates an open mind. The questions we ask lead us to
attain the truth. Questions drive us to answers we never thought to consider until we asked the
question.

3. Explain the theory of forms according to the understanding of Plato?

Plato believed in two distinct realities. The first is our physical environment. The second is a non-
physical realm where the forms can be found. In our world, everything is a copy or an attempt to
represent a form. Blackness, roundness, softness, goodness, hardness, greenness, triangle-ness,
chair-ness, and so on are archetypes and characteristics. In this other reality, for example, the
perfect form of a sphere exists. In our world, we only have copies that aren't quite perfect a ball or a
planet. Plato used the example of people in a cave watching shadows cast by a puppet show they
can't see. People look at the shadows and interpret them as the objects being manipulated by the
puppeteer. In our world, when we look at an orange, we see a sphere. However, the true sphere can
only be found in the other realm. Our realm is a subjective one. The objective realm is the other.

4. How does theory of forms help me to gain knowledge the mere perception?

The theory of forms will be able to help other people and I gain knowledge beyond mere
perception by explaining or being the path to understanding the various forms of theories which are
thoughts themselves and things we can use our five senses on. Having theories will help us
understand some of the context of how things are and how they work. Plato's theory is efficient on
multiple levels. It can be read as a criticism of those who are drowning in ignorance and refuse to
broaden their horizons, as well as an example of how people can be critical of new ideas. Lastly, the
Theory of Forms is a method of comprehending reality. Plato contended that what people see and
experience in their daily lives is merely a representation of actual reality, which people cannot
access but which nonetheless influences the world.
