Left Turn Signal - Alert indicator (1)

will flash when the left turn signal is
activated.

Right Turn signal - Alert indicator (2)

will flash when the right turn signal is
activated.

Implement Float Active - Alert

indicator (3) will light when float is
active.

Primary Steering Failure - Alert

indicator (4) will light and an audible
alarm will sound when the primary
steering oil pressure is low. Immediately
pull the machine to a convenient stop.
Stop the engine. Do not operate the
machine until the fault has been
corrected.

Note: If the machine is equipped with secondary steering, when you turn the engine start switch key
to the ON position, the alert indicator for the primary steering will light for 3 seconds. If the alert
indicator for the primary steering does not light, investigate the cause. Do not operate the machine
until the fault has been corrected.

Differential Lock - Alert indicator (5)

will light when the differentials are
locked.

High Beam - The alert indicator (6)

will light when the high beams are on.

Quick Steer Active - Alert indicator

(7) will light when the Quick Steer is
active.

Quick coupler - Alert indicator (8) will

light when the Quick coupler is
disengaged.

Parking Brake - Alert indicator (9) will

light when the parking brake is engaged.
An audible alarm will sound when the
parking brake is engaged and the
transmission is put into forward or
reverse. The alert indicator should go
out when the parking brake is released.

Ride Control - Alert indicator (10) will

light when the ride control is activated.
The light will be green when ride
control is active or in automatic mode.
The light will be off when ride control
is deactivated.

Action Lamp - Alert indicator (11) will

light in order to inform the operator of a
malfunction in the operating system.

Engine Warning - Alert indicator (12)

will light when the engine warning is
activated.

Starting Aid Active - Alert indicator

(13) will light when the glow plugs or
ether (if equipped) are activated during
engine starting. Refer to the Operation
and Maintenance Manual, "Engine
Starting" for more information.

Air Filter Blocked - Alert indicator

(14) will light when the engine air filter
needs to be cleaned or changed.

Low Fuel - Alert indicator (15) will

light when the fuel level is below 25%.

Water in Fuel - Alert indicator (16) will

light when there is water in the fuel.

Transmission Filter Bypass - Alert

indicator (17) will flash when a
transmission filter bypass occurs. The
transmission filter needs to be replaced.

Charging System Failure - Alert

indicator (18) will light when there is a
malfunction in the electrical system.

Hydraulic Filter Bypass - Alert

indicator (19) will light when the
hydraulic system warning is activated.

Gauge Panel

Coolant Temperature - Gauge (20)

indicates the temperature of the engine
coolant.

Tachometer - Gauge (21) indicates the

engine speed.

Fuel Level - Graph (22) indicates the

level of fuel that is in the fuel tank.

Hydraulic Oil Temperature - Gauge

(24) indicates the temperature of the
hydraulic oil.

LCD Display - The LCD display (23)

provides a display area for functions of
the machine.

Service Brake Test Active

This set of icons will appear if the service brake system is being tested.

FUNCTIONAL TEST
The battery disconnect switch must be in the ON position.

When you turn the engine start switch key from the OFF position to the ON position, the Caterpillar
monitoring system will perform an automatic self-diagnostic test.

The self-diagnostic test verifies that the outputs (gauges and alert indicators) are operating correctly.

When you turn the engine start switch key to the ON position, the following systems are tested for
approximately one second: Alert indicators, Gauges, and LCD displays

The gauges must go to the far right positions. All alert indicators must come on momentarily. All
segments of the LCD displays must come on momentarily.
