Help Ukraine
As I was about to send out another story witnessing
God’s magnificence, Russia invaded Ukraine. It didn’t
seem fair to share joy in the midst of horror. I am
from Lithuania, therefore the current war strikes
even closer to home. My homeland had been
occupied by Russia more than once, and on March
11 we celebrated 32 years of Restoration of
Independence. Will that be it? Many are scared,
everybody is worried.

Yet we are more concerned about the Ukrainians; the

houseless, the fleeing, the fighting, the lost… All I
could wrap my mind around these past few weeks
has been following the news and praying. Still, some
of our colleagues, brothers and sisters from the
Foursquare Churches in the bordering countries of
Poland, Slovakia and Romania, have been involved
directly. They have been driving into Ukraine to deliver the aid and bring people out, welcoming the refugees
(already numbering more than 3 million), finding shelter, feeding, coordinating relief efforts, and some even
taking in refugees into their homes.

Foursquare Disaster Relief (FDR) has been helping the Ukrainian Foursquare Church since the beginning. The
church’s leader is in a safe place, planning on staying in the country and taking up arms if necessary. Recently,
an orphanage run by a church in central Ukraine was evacuated to the west. Also, FDR actively supports and
collaborates with those helping the refugees. Thirdly, as much as it is possible, it is also helping the Russians
left in Russia. The network of Foursquare churches is wide both in Ukraine and Russia. We are supporting
them now, and we will in the years to come. What has been put to ruins in a matter of weeks, will take years
to restore!

So let’s not be indifferent, let’s help those we can, let’s give generously!
