Pedro Suarez Vertiz Biography
At the age of 9, at Maria Reina School, she composed a story for Mother's Day about her
reflections on being born. Already in high school his writings began to be set to music when he
formed his first band with his brother and friends called Paranoia. Later, she formed the band
Arena Hash, in which she played guitar, composed and sang all the songs. After the two albums
composed with Arena Hash, in 1992 he decided to be a solo musician. In 1993, he released his
first solo album entitled "No existen técnicas para olvidar", with which he obtained a contract
with Sony Music-Miami. In 1996, he released his second album titled "Póntelo en la lengua".
The album sold more than 40 thousand copies and obtained Triple Platinum Record. In 2004
he ended his relationship with Sony Music and released his album "Play" under his own label
Solver Label.
He retired from the stage in 2011 due to health problems. He explained that it was the product
of a muscular nervous disorder, which is evident with age, coupled with a chronic attention
deficit that makes him look extremely distracted and slurred when speaking, which seriously
affected his singing. He has reduced his interviews and increased his shows because he has
been recommended to sing as rehabilitative therapy. On July 20, 2018, the U.S. Senate,
recognized the career of Pedro Suarez-Vertiz for which they presented him with a medal, a
U.S. flag folded in a triangle, and a proclamation written on behalf of the U.S. Congress. Pedro
Suarez-Vertiz was selected to compose the official song for the Lima 2019 Pan American
Games. During September 24 and 29, 2019, the musical "Cuéntame" was performed at the
Amphitheater of the Parque de la Exposición with the production of Los Productores.
