Financial Records Assignment Rubric

You work as an executive assistant to Mr. Moe Gull, the president for a craft brewer Moe’s Brewery.

The Quarter 2 sales figures have just been released and he would like you to prepare a report for him to
present to the management team.

The sales figures he received are as follows:

Product Quarter 1 Quarter 2

Moe’s Pale Ale 150,234 165,902
Moe’s Leggy Lager 148,296 132,093
Moe’s Honey Brew 237,923 243,046
Moe’s Barley Bliss 175,503 223,957
Total Sales $711,956 $764,998

Mr. Gull would like you to prepare a report that shows the following:

• The rate of change in total sales and for each product from Quarter 1 to Quarter 2.
• The market share for each product in Quarter 1 and Quarter 2, as well as market share for each
product for total sales (Quarter 1 and Quarter 2) to date.

The narrative of your report should provide a number of highlights including:

• Products with the highest/lowest rate of change

• Products with the highest/lowest market share

Finally, Mr. Gull would like you to prepare a sales forecast for Quarter 3. Assuming that sales for each
product will continue at the same rate as Quarter 2, provide an estimate for sales of each product in
Quarter 3, as well as total sales for Quarter 3.
