The Grand High Witch reveals a plan to turn all children into mice through a magical formula. When they find that Luke has overheard, the witches test the formula on him. Now, with the help of Helga and the hotel manager, Mr. Stringer, Luke the mouse must fight back against the witches. Characters The Narrator: Our nameless seven year-old narrator certainly makes a name for himself Grandmamma: An 86-year-old chubby Norwegian lady with a walking stick who smokes cigars. The Grand High Witch: Give this lady a bike and a theme song, also the villain on the story. Bruno Jenkins: Bruno Jenkins is the dictionary definition of an oaf. He's big and greedy. The Doctor, The Nurse, and Mrs Spring: These three helpful characters take care of Grandmamma when she's sick with pneumonia. William (The Waiter): There's nothing too special about William, the waiter. He seems to be a nice guy. Review of the Book I liked The Witches, it was very exciting and you never know what was going to happen next. I also liked it because it was very funny. This book is probably one of the best books I've ever read! There were lots of characters in The Witches, some of them were nice, and some of them were not. The two main characters are the narrator and the Grand Witch, the Grand Witch wasn’t very nice at all. If I needed to give the book a score I would give it 10/10 because I can't say one thing that is wrong about that book. First, I really liked the book! Some people might not but if they did they would see that the book was really good and lively! So definitely it gets a 10/10, no doubt. Thank you
