To become a mentor:
Hello Valerie,
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. We offer a mentoring program in which we
work with children from different villages in order to empower them to learn and to help them
stay at school.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please fill out the following form:

Being an online mentor involves empowering your mentee to learn and showing them that education
can change their lives. We want to decrease the dropout rates of children at school since many of them
do not get to finish their primary school. The idea is that mentors motivate them and teach them new
skills that they could use at school and for their lives.
I hope this has brought some clarity on what being an online mentor is.
Missing sessions:
Hello Carmen,
I hope you are doing well. We have noticed that you have already missed 2 mentoring sessions without
an excuse. Is everything okay? Remember that we have a commitment with these kids and we need to
be consistent. Please let us know if you are able to continue mentoring.
Thank you!
Joining workspace:
Hi Xinyu,
This is Mustafa Baig, your mentor advisor for the Ahero program. I apologize that I have not introduced
myself nor reached out to you about joining Facebook workplace.
Facebook Workplace is a great place where you can collaborate with other mentors to find resources
and solutions to the obstacles your mentee may be facing. You can also reach out to Alex and Mwila
there to ask more questions about your mentee and their needs.
Please spend the next week logging onto Facebook Workplace, downloading it onto your phone, and
becoming familiar with it. Introduce yourself to Mika and the other mentors with a quick post telling
them about yourself!
All communication will be done through Facebook Workplace. After your mentoring session, I will send
you a Google Form so that I can receive your feedback from the mentoring session you completed that
day.
After you join our Facebook Workplace, please make an introductory post so we can get to know each
other better!
Again I am Mustafa, your mentor advisor. We are always appreciative of feedback, so please reach out if
you have any concerns or suggestions for us or your program! I look forward to working with you!
Best,
Mustafa Baig

The most important part of mentoring is the long-term, consistent relationship you form. We do
not expect you to be another educator for Bravine, rather a source of inspiration and support.
Village Book Builder’s purpose is to help others love learning.

Your first session will be on Saturday, August 21 at 8:00 am EST.
This will serve as a getting-to-know-you time so that you can better prepare for Bravine
Magana's specific needs and interests. Most of these kids have never seen a computer before,
so be patient as they may have difficulty using the computer or opening up right away.
If you experience any technical difficulties or your mentee is absent, please contact
Lawrence Chavuza and Mohamad Al Zein by messaging “Maragoli” and "Mohamad Al
Zein" on Facebook Workplace.

I hope all is well! I noticed that you missed your mentoring session this week. We get it,
life happens, and stuff comes up. However, if you are going to miss a session, please
let us know in advance so we may excuse you and make plans for your mentee. We
appreciate all your hard work. Have a nice day!
