Πάντα πάω. Δεν πήγα μια φορά γιατί δεν ήμουνα καλά
I always go. I didn’t go one time (once) because I was not well

Μου αρέσουν τα Αγγλικά
I like English (language)

We had a few adverbs «συχνά», «σπάνια» which are adverbs of

frequency.

«συχνά» is “often” and «σπάνια» means “rarely”

Ο Τομ και η Μαίρη έρχονται συχνά στο σπίτι μου

Tom and Mary come to my house often
Πάω συχνά στο θέατρο
I go to the theatre often
Σπάνια δουλεύω το βράδυ
I rarely work in the evening
Το καλοκαίρι βρέχει πολύ σπάνια
In the summer it seldom rains

«Νωρίς» and «Αργά» are adverbs of time

Κάποτε πάω στο μάθημα αργά

Sometimes I go to the lesson late
Φύγαμε νωρίς το πρωί και γυρίσαμε αργά το βράδυ
We left early morning and returned late afternoon
Είναι αργά για το θέατρο
It is late for the theatre

 The adverb «τελευταία» has two uses :
As the opposite of «πρώτα» it means “lastly”

Πρώτα ξυρίζομαι και μετά πλένομαι

First (firstly) I shave and lastly (later) I wash
Ντύνομαι τελευταία
I dress lastly (later)
Πήγα πρώτα στα μαγαζιά και τελευταία στο ταχυδρομείο
I went first to the shops and last (later) to the post office

«τελευταία» also means “recently”

Ο Τομ και η Μαίρη τελευταία μένουν σε ένα μικρό διαμέρισμα

Tom and Mary lastly (recently) stay in a small apartment
Τώρα τελευταία δεν σε βλέπω συχνά
Lastly I don’t see you often
Τι συμβαίνει;
What is happening?
Δεν συμβαίνει τίποτα
Nothing is happening
Έχω πολύ δουλειά τελευταία
I have a lot of work lastly
Τώρα τελευταία έρχονται στη πόλη μας

Use the adverbs «νωρίς», «αργά», «συχνά», «σπάνια»

Πάω στο σινεμά δύο φορές κάθε εβδομάδα

I go to the cinema two times (twice) every week
Γράφω γράμματα μια φορά κάθε χρόνο
I write letters one time (once) every year
Γράφω σπάνια
I write rarely

 The expression «κάνω μπάνιο» - I take (have) a bath
If though we refer to the sea it is “I bathe”.

The important word «όταν» (when). There are two words in Greek and
only one in English.

«πότε» and «όταν»

«πότε» is used with questions

Πότε θα φύγεις;
When are you leaving?
Πότε έχουμε καλοκαίρι:
When do we have summer?
Όταν μιλάνε καθαρά καταλαβαίνω
When they speak clearly I understand
Όταν έχω δουλειά πάω αργά στο μάθημα
When I have work I go late to the lesson
Όταν βρέχει μένω στο σπίτι
When it is raining I stay at the house
Όταν τρώμε δεν μιλάμε
When we are eating we don’t speak (talk)
Όταν πήγα ήταν αργά
When I went it was late
