Chapter: MEDIA AND ITS IMPACT

 Know the role and impact of media on society

 Read newspapers regularly

Duration of period 45 minutes

Material/Sources required:
Laptop, jam board, text book, charts.

Introduction: 5 minutes

Teacher will;
 Greet the students after entering the room by saying “Assalam-o-Alaikum”.
 Ask questions like ‘How was your day?’ ‘What were we discussing last time?’ to grab
their attention.
 Take roll call and maintain the discipline of the class.
 Announce the new topic
 Ask some questions related to background knowledge of the topic like;
 How does media bring people closer?
 Do you know the difference between electronic media and print media?
 Do you like reading newspapers? Which is your favorite newspaper?

Development: 35 minutes
Activity 1: 15 minutes

Teacher will;
 Start from general discussion on electronic and print media.
 Ask students to read each passage one by one.
 Translate the entire chapter in Urdu for the sake of convenience of students.
 Write difficult vocab on board.
 Ask them how do you define media?

Activity 2: 20 minutes

Students will;
 Write about their own experiences of social media.

 Divide in 6 groups and summarize:


Conclusion: 1 minute

o Teacher will tell the students, “Today we have learnt the different
communication ways of media and their impacts on human lives.”

Assessment: 3 minutes

Answer the following questions.


Homework: 1 minute

Teacher will ask the students to;


 Write a paragraph on ‘Uses and abuses of internet/mobile phones.
