At the end of the lesson, the students may be able to:
1. discuss the different types of poetic imagery;
2. identify the different types of poetic imagery in the poem
3. create sentences using the types of poetic imagery
4. compose a poem applying the types of imagery
Time Allotment:
120 minutes (two hours)
Materials:
chalk and board, whiteboard marker, power point presentation
Learning Procedures

A. Introduction: (5 minutes)
- The students will share their understanding about “A picture paints a thousand words”. Teacher’s Tip:
- The teacher will call the student who raised his/ her hand before
sharing his/ her answers in front of the class.

B. Motivation: (5 minutes)
- The students will enumerate the senses of human being and how it is applied in making a poem. Teacher’s Tip:
- The teacher will call the student who raised his/ her hand before

C. Instruction / Delivery: (15 minutes)


- The students will be divided into two (2) groups. Teacher’s Tip:
- Each group will pick a topic to discuss with their group members the “Seven Types of Poetic Imagery” - The teacher will divide the class into two (2) according to the
- Each group will make 2 sentences using the types of poetic imagery. colors they've picked .
- Each group will choose a representative to report their discussion in front of the class. - The teacher will facilitate the students in their group activity.

Practice: (15 minutes)


- In the same group the student will identify imagery devises used in the selected passage of the poem Teachers Tip:
entitled “Preludes” by T.S Eliot. - The teacher will facilitate the activity.
- One member of the group will present and explain their answers on the board. Rubrics:
Delivery: 40 pts
Presentation: 30 pts
Participation: 30 pts
Total: 100 pts

Enrichment: (10 minutes)


- The students will share how their sensory organs were utilized in practicing spiritual practices.

Evaluation: (10 minutes)


- The students will construct a poem (free verse) about their experiences using the types of the poetic Teacher’s Tip:
