1. Song: The Books in the Old Testament

Primary President Opening Remarks

2. Song: I Know My Father Lives p. 5

Teacher Summary: Premortality refers to our life before we were

born on this earth. In our pre-earth life, we lived in the presence of
our Heavenly Father as His spirit children. We did not have a
physical body.

In this premortal existence, we attended a council with Heavenly

Father’s other spirit children. At that council, Heavenly Father
presented His great plan of happiness.1
Teacher Scripture: Abraham chapter 3 verses 22 and 23 reads:
Now the Lord had shown unto me, Abraham, the intelligences that
were organized before the world was; and among all these there
were many of the noble and great ones;

And God saw these souls that they were good, and he stood in the
midst of them, and he said: These I will make my rulers; for he
stood among those that were spirits, and he saw that they were
good; …

4/5 Year Old Talks: “I know Heavenly Father lives because…”

3. Song: Follow the Prophet p. 110

Teacher Summary: God speaks to His people through prophets.

There were many prophets who walked the earth before Jesus
Christ was born. Through the scriptures, we too can learn from
these prophets of old.

We can listen to our prophet [today]. When we follow the prophet,

we will be blessed. Throughout our lives, we will have to make
choices. When we choose to do what the prophet asks us to do, our
choices will guide us back to Father in Heaven.2

Teacher Scripture: Moses chapter 7 verse 18 reads:

And the Lord called his people Zion, because they were of one heart
and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor
among them.

7 Year Old Talks: "My favorite Old Testament prophet is

________________ because..."
4. Song: Help Me, Dear Father p. 99

Teacher Summary: After you are baptized and confirmed, you are
responsible to choose the right. Because of Jesus Christ’s
Atonement, when you do something wrong, you can repent and do
better. If someone does something that upsets you, you can forgive
them to feel better!3

Teacher Scripture: Moses chapter 6 verse 57 reads:

Wherefore teach it unto your children, that all men, everywhere,
must repent, or they can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God, for
no unclean thing can dwell there, or dwell in his presence; for, in
the language of Adam, Man of Holiness is his name, and the name of
his Only Begotten is the Son of Man, even Jesus Christ, a righteous
Judge, who shall come in the meridian of time.

8 Year Old Talks: "I can forgive and repent every day by…”

5. Song: Redeemer of Israel hymn #6 (first verse primary, with

congregation joining in on the rest of the verses)

TeacherSummary: Christ, as the redeemer of Israel is the person

who regained possession of our souls … through his Atonement.
Israel represents those who make covenants with God, and as a
result, those who will … be brought back to live with God.

Our Redeemer is all that makes us happy, and we turn to him for
our blessings. Like Jesus protected Israel in the wilderness for forty
years by leading them with a pillar cloud during the day, and gave
them light to see by in the night with a pillar of fire, He will also
lead us and show us the way. He is only our king and the one.4
Teacher Scripture: Exodus chapter 13 verses 21 and 22 reads:
And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead
them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to
go by day and night:

He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire
by night, from before the people.

9 Year Old Talks: “My favorite name of the Savior is

__________________ because…”

6. Song: I Will Walk with Jesus

Teacher Summary: Dieter F. Uchtdorf said “Our daily walk with

Jesus Christ leads to peace and purpose in this life and profound joy
and eternal salvation in the world to come. Those who follow this
path faithfully avoid many of the pitfalls, sorrows, and regrets of
life.

The poor in spirit and honest of heart find great treasures of

knowledge here. Those who suffer or grieve find healing here.
Those burdened with sin find forgiveness, liberty, and rest.”5

Teacher Scripture: Isaiah chapter 41 verse 10 reads:

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy
God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold
thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Sunbeam Talks: "Jesus helps me everyday by…"

7. Song: I Will Be Valiant p. 162

Teacher Summary: You can develop courage to choose the right,
even when others around you choose differently. As you make
righteous choices day by day in little things, the Lord will
strengthen you and help you choose the right at difficult times. You
can follow the example of the [prophets]. You can be valiant. You
can “stand for truth.” You can “stand for right.” The Lord can depend
on you.6

Teacher Scripture: Deuteronomy chapter 31 verse 6 reads:

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for
the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail
thee, nor forsake thee.

6 Year Old Talks: "I can be valiant and show courage by ..."

8. Song: My Redeemer Lives hymn #135 (first verse primary, with

congregation joining in on the rest of the verses)

Teacher Summary: Elder Bruce R McConkie’s final testimony

stated, “I am one of his witnesses, and in a coming day I shall feel
the nail marks in his hands and in his feet and shall wet his feet
with my tears.

“But I shall not know any better then, than I know now that he is
God’s Almighty Son, that he is our Savior and Redeemer, and that
salvation comes in and through his atoning blood and in no other
way.”7

Teacher Scripture: Job chapter 19 verses 25 and 26 reads:

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the
latter day upon the earth:
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh
shall I see God:

10/11 Year Old Talks: "I know Jesus Christ is my redeemer
