The study of history does relate me as a student by allowing me to develop better

understanding of the world in which we live in. Because it is essential not just to me but for
all of us in understanding ourselves and the world around us . History enables me to know
the story of how our nation, city, or community came to be everything that it is. Most
importantly, it gives us the ability to spot and appreciate the legacies that we have inherited
from our ancestors. Building knowledge and understanding of historical events and trends,
especially over the past century, allows me to develop a much greater appreciation for
current events today. Because history is the story of who we are, where we come from, and
can possibly tell where we are headed to. By understanding the identity of a nation, what is it
made up of; these stories will shape the way we think about our country and our standing
within it, we can even learn about how great institutions are formed, and how they’ve
contributed to where we are today. Through history, we can learn how past societies,
systems, ideologies, governments, cultures and technologies were built, how they operated,
and how they have changed. To know and understand history is absolutely necessary, even
though the results of historical study are not as visible, and less immediate. All this
knowledge makes me a more rounded person who are better prepared to learn in all my
academic subjects. And also, history will help me for preventing future mistakes. The past
should serve as a personal guide to the future by letting me, and the people see how past
events have relevance in our life now. So therefore, studying the past can have a direct
impact on our life today.
