Pattern Penguin Pip

Material Uses stitches

Approx 110 grams of Cotton (for example ch = chain

Scheepjes Catona) for the main color sl.st. = slip stitch

Approx 20 grams for the beak and the legs sc = single crochet

Approx 10 grams for the eyes hdc = half double crochet

Approx 20 grams for the belly dc = double crochet

2,5 mm crochet hook sc2tog = single crochet two stitches

8 mm black safety eyes together

Synthetic filling

This is a basic pattern.

You can choose to crochet the penguin in one color, or you can make stripes at your discretion.

Just vary and you can make another penguin each time!

BODY

You start at the bottom of the body.

Crochet 2ch

1. 6sc in the last chain from the hook

2. 2sc in each sc, repeat (12sc)

3. 1sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (18sc)

4. 2sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (24sc)

5. 3sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (30sc)

6. 4sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (36sc)

7. 5sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (42sc)

EYE SPOT (MAKE 2)

Crochet 2ch

1. 6sc in the last chain from the hook

2. 2sc in each sc, repeat (12sc)

3. 1sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (18sc)

4. 2sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (24sc)

5. 3sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (30sc)

6. 4sc, 2sc in the next sc, repeat (36sc)

7. 1sc, 1hdc, 1hdc, 1dc, 1dc, 2dc in the next sc, 1dc, 1dc, 1hdc, 1hdc, 1sc, 1sl.st.

Tie off.

Place the safety eyes through the eye spots and the head (between row 22 and row 23 with 2sc

space between the eye spots) and close them at the back side of the head.

Sew the eye spots on the head.

Stuff the head.

Sew the head on the body, use the back

loops of row 30 (see photo).

If necessary, you can stuff the head a little

bit more while you are sewing.

1. 6sc in the last chain from the hook

Stuff the beak.

Sew the beak on the head (see photo’s).

Crochet 7ch

1. Start in the second sc from the hook and crochet 6sc

Don’t tie off and crochet 9ch

2. Start in the second sc from the hook and crochet 8sc

Don’t tie off and crochet 6ch

3. Start in the second sc from the hook and crochet 5sc

Tie off.

Fold the three hears on each other and sew the bottom together (see photo’s).

Sew the hear on top of the head.

BELLY

Crochet 13ch

1. start in the second sc from the hook and crochet 12sc, 1ch (12sc)

2. 2sc in the first sc, 10sc, 2sc in the last sc, 1ch (14sc)

3. 2sc in the first sc, 12sc, 2sc in the last sc, 1ch (16sc)
