TECHNICAL STATEMENT

In addition to the Technical Product Data Sheet and the Safety Data Sheet the following additional test data
are listed for the product:

HEMPEL’S UNI-PRIMER 13140

Please note that the measurements given below have been optained under very controlled laboratory
conditions. On-site measurements may give different results depending on circumstances.

ADHESION/COHESION: (ISO 4624/ASTM D 4541, Saeberg - Pneumatic adhesion tester):


Pull Off Value 40 kp/cm2 (4 MPa)

ASTM D 3359 (method B):


Classification 5B (Excellent) - also after ageing 14 days by immersion
in potable water.
Coating system: 30 µm HEMPEL’S UNI-PRIMER 13140 + 60 µm
HEMPAQUICK ENAMEL 53840.

IMPACT RESISTANCE: (ISO 6272/ASTM D 2794):


No visible cracks at a frontal impact of 36 inchlbs on 1.5 mm steel
panel.
Coating system:
30 µm HEMPEL’S UNI-PRIMER 13140 + 60 µm HEMPAQUICK
ENAMEL 53840.

FLEXIBILITY: (ISO 1519/ASTM D522, Mandrel bend test):


When aged: 6% elongation.

COMPATIBILITY WITH DIFFERENT Excellent - May be topcoated with HEMPALIN, HEMPAQUICK,

RESISTANCE TO AGEING: (ISO 7253/ASTM B 117, Salt Spray test):


Coating system:
2 X 40 µm HEMPEL’S UNI-PRIMER 13140 +
40 µm HEMPAQUICK ENAMEL 53840
No blistering and red rust formation, 1 mm rust from the scribe and
good adhesion after 1000 hours exposure.

(ASTM G85-94 Annex A5, Modified Salt Spray test):


Coating system:
2 X 45 µm HEMPEL’S UNI-PRIMER 13140 +
30 µm HEMPALIN ENAMEL 52140
No blistering and red rust formation, 1 mm rust from the scribe and
good adhesion after 1000 hours exposure.
