Instruction: Identify one problem of socialization in today’s generation from your interview.
Create an organized plan on how you can help solve the identified problem by completing the
matrix below.

O-PLAN REVITALIZING SOCIALIZATION

Problem of Socialization Today: Adolescents/Teenage Trauma

- Adolescent trauma can have long-term consequences. It

describes a frightening, hazardous, violent, or life-threatening
incident in one's life. Trauma can be induced by a traumatic
occurrence that has a long-term effect on the victim's mental
and emotional well-being. Many sources of trauma are
physical in form, but others are psychological in character.
Exhaustion, uncertainty, depression, worry, agitation,
numbness, dissociation, confusion, emotional arousal, and
muted affect are all symptoms of trauma. The majority of
reactions are typical in that they influence the majority of

survivors and are socially acceptable, psychologically effective,

and self-contained.

What do I want to happen? - Because of shame and guilt, trauma can have an
impact on one's experiences and interactions with
others. It can also make you feel isolated and unable
to connect with people. Teenagers in my community
who have experienced trauma are unable to cope or
process their emotions well. In addition, a teenager's
age influences how he or she reacts to tragedy. At
addition, some people may have trouble sleeping,
isolating themselves, or paying attention in school. So,
I can advocate by going door to door to combat this
stigma, and offering some advice can also help. At the
same time, we'll deal with their issues with their
parents in a polite manner.

What will I do? The majority of people recover naturally from trauma. It may,
however, take some time. The best thing you can do if you've
had symptoms for a long time if they're too severe is to help
them recuperate. Giving them some insight into what is the
best thing to do, even if the progress is gradual.

STEP 1 Face your feelings. It's natural to desire to forget about a

painful experience. However, refusing to leave the house,
sleeping all day, isolating yourself from loved ones, and
abusing substances to avoid reminders are not long-term
healthy coping strategies. While some avoidance is natural,

excessive avoidance might prolong your stress and prevent

you from healing. Gradually reintroduce yourself to a normal
schedule. As you get back into the swing of things, having the
support of loved ones or friends can be really beneficial.

STEP 2 Prioritize self-care. Eat nutritious meals, engage in regular

physical activity, and obtain a decent night's sleep as much as
possible. Also, look for other healthy coping skills like painting,
talking with friends, listening to music, relaxing, and spending
time in nature.

STEP 3 Lean on your loved ones. Identify people who can help you,
such as friends or relatives. If you're ready to talk about the
terrible occurrence, you could tell them about your feelings
and experience. To ease some of your daily stress, you can ask
loved ones to assist you with domestic activities or other
obligations.

STEP 4 Be patient. Remember that having a strong reaction to a

traumatic situation is natural. As you heal, take things one day
at a time. As the days pass, you should notice a progressive
improvement in your symptoms. All wounds will be healed by
the passage of time.

What is the result?

In a variety of ways, socialization has an impact on our stress

levels. To begin with, socializing reduces anxiety and increases

confidence in our abilities to cope with situations.

Furthermore, socializing focuses our energies outward. You
are temporarily diverted from your own circumstances, pain,
or stress levels when you are focused on reaching out to other
people. People who aid others can count on them for future
assistance and emotional support. Socially connected people
also feel loved, included, and cared for. These people are able
to communicate about their concerns and emotions with
others (which can decrease stress feelings). Socializing may
build your feeling of meaning and purpose in life, as well as
improve your mood, all of which can help shield you from the
harmful impacts of stress. These are some of the tactics I
envision for increasing socializing throughout the process.
Begin to interact with your friends and family. Introduce
yourself to your neighbors and other persons you see on a
regular basis. Join a group or enroll in a class that interests
you. As humans, social connection is critical to our overall
health. Having a strong network of support or strong
community bonds promotes both emotional and physical well-
being and is a vital part of adult life.
