 Everyday Kindness Discussion Guide

Use these coloring pages to help children discover kindness in everyday life. More than ever, kids need to
see examples of kindness. It's not enough to say, "BE KIND." We all need practical examples for modern living.
Our artists have included diversity in the facial shapes, but we recommend skin tone crayons to make it
obvious. You can use our questions and responses as a guide. There are many right answers, the point is to
help children think about the meaning of kindness. For a more in-depth study, see our Kids 4 Kindness: 4-
Week Children's Ministry Curriculum.

Ephesians 4:32 NIV Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in
Christ God forgave you.

1. Be Kind to All Kinds

• What does it mean for children to be "different kinds?" (Different talents, different skin color, different
body types, different personality)
• How are the children in the picture being kind to one another? (Sharing the ball, holding the
umbrella, smiling)
• How does God show kindness to us? (Provides for our needs, gives us parents, forgives our mistakes,
is patient, cares about our problems)
2. Look Out for the Left Out
• Have you ever felt "left out" from a group? (Out sick from school, not invited to a birthday party, not
picked for the team)
• How are the children in the picture showing kindness? (They are visiting a friend who is home sick)
• How does Jesus look out for the left out? (He loves all people, many Bible stories where Jesus goes
after the outcasts)
3. Forgive First
• Have you ever lost a friend because an argument? How did you feel? (Angry, sad, confused)
• What do you think is happening in this picture? (One child is forgiving the other for breaking the
skateboard)
• What does the Bible say about who God wants to forgive? (God offers forgiveness to everyone who is
willing to accept it)
4. Helping Hands are Kind Hands
• Have you ever done a service project? (Food drive, writing letters at church, fundraiser project at
school)
• How did you feel when you helped other people? (Happy, important, grown up)
• Do you know any ways Jesus used his hands to help in the Bible? (Healed the sick, feeding the poor,
comforting sad people, removing our sins on the cross)

 More Scriptures about Kindness

Psalms 145:9 NIV The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

John 13:34-35 NIV "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so
you must love one another. (35) By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if
you love one another."

Acts 4:32 NIV All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of
their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.

Acts 14:17 NIV Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by
giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of
food and fills your hearts with joy."
