SPECIALIZED INDUSTRIAL CLEANING SERVICES

INTRODUCTION

Aqua Drill International specialized industrial pipe, exchanger, tube, tank and vessel cleaning
using only high-pressure water without any chemical or abrasive additives. All cleaning
technologies are automated,hands-off and thereby safe for the operating personnel. ADI
Industrial Services Middle East in partnership with REDA PROCESS EQUIPMENT act as the
central location for supplying these industrial cleaning services to the Saudi Arabian
markets.

The unique cleaning expertise is a result of cutting-edge technology, on-going innovation and
lessons learned. ADI has removed the most difficult encrustations from complicated pipe
configurations, where other companies have failed.
The patent pending Aqua Rover ® Technology is the newest technology for cleaning of very
large diameter piping up to 5M inner diameter. Aqua Rovers® have successfully been utilized
in hydropower projects in Germany, Switzerland and Luxemburg as well as in plant cooling
water lines, like in the Barzan On Shore Project in Qatar.

ADI is also introducing a patented rotating flex lance cleaning capability into the market, thus
revolutionizing tube cleaning.

For more than fifteen years ADI has provided pre-commissioning and maintenance services on
a regular basis to Saudi Aramco, SABIC, Saudi Kayan, Qatar Vinyl Company, JGC, Bechtel,
Fluor, SINOPEC and other companies in the GCC.

The ADI team is a unique group of highly qualified, dedicated specialists, committed to
customer satisfaction, delivering superior quality and continuously improving performance at
every level. The focus is on technology development challenged by the customers’ needs, and
cooperating with the clients to resolve their most demanding industrial cleaning problems.

Typical Applications for Scale Removal
With more than twenty years of cleaning experience, ADI has been leading the way to hands-
off cleaning of industrial systems in shut-downs, maintenance and pre-commissioning
applications:

Piping Tubing Tanks Towers and Vessels

Process Piping fully plugged Heat Exchanger Tubes Vertical Process Tanks
Process Piping partially Fin-Fan Tubes Horizontal Process Tanks
plugged Reactor Tubes Separator and Process Tanks
Cooling Water Lines Cooler Tubes Gas Phase Reactors
Clarifier Lines Condenser Tubes (Polyethylene removal)
Waste Water Lines Pre-Heater Tubes Devolizers (Polyethylene
Furnace Piping Boiler Tubes removal)
Heat Exchanger Shells Evaporator Tubes Cone Shaped Tanks
Flare Stacks (300 foot reach Sulfur Pit

Chimneys (300 foot reach removal)
w/o support) Columns with trays
Underground Piping up to 15
foot diameter

Table 1 Typical Applications for Scale Removal

ADI special water jet geometries and characteristics eliminate the need for “ultra-high
pressure” in excess of 20,000 psi which involves the risk of pipe or vessel damage. ADI cleaning
technologies utilize over 15 types of high-pressure water jets some are designed to create a
strong hammering effect for removal of scale instead of the “slicing” effect seen with ultra-
high-pressure water jets. Numerous scales that cannot be removed using conventional
cleaning at 40,000 psi can be removed using the ADI water jet technology.

“Hands-Free” Cleaning Technologies
The ADI technologies and equipment described in this expose are operated “hands-free” thus
maximizing safety for the operating personnel.

ADI High Pressure Pump Units-are the “heart of every ADI cleaning system”

All ADI Cleaning Technologies use specially designed ADI water jets that do not require “UHP”
pressures such as 40,000 psi to remove extremely hard scale. ADI Technologies frequently
removes scale that 40,000 psi conventional hydro-blasting cannot remove. To accomplish the
task and generate the specialized water jets, ADI owns 650 Horsepower High Pressure Water
pump units. These can also be multi-connected using a remotely controlled manifold to
provide 1,200 or 1,800 Horsepower cleaning power.

The pumps are mounted in modified 20 foot seagoing containers. The containers also include
a logistics section that houses all equipment required to execute the work. This simplifies the
logistics and reduces any footprint at work site to the size of this container

To remotely shut-down water pressure and flow and discharging the pressure instantly to an
energy absorber, the hydraulic “safety bypass system” is part of every ADI Pump Units. The
unit is also continuously monitored by multiple sensors during the cleaning process.

Removing the scale and transporting it to the cleaning system point of entry are two separate
tasks in other technologies. ADI equipment is designed to accomplish both with the same tool
within the shortest possible time frame.

The remotely controlled water jetting units can be mounted either on stationary support
equipment or on mobile platforms.

Picture 2 Typical Stationary Aqua Milling®/Hydroblasting Unit

The stationary equipment can either be mounted to the surface to be cleaned, like tube sheets,
or is detached positioned. In the above set-up, the Aqua Milling®/hydro blasting equipment is
mounted on a beam crawler for horizontal movements, while the support frame is providing
the vertical positioning., thereby ensuring a safe, homogeneous cleaning of external surfaces.

Some applications require mobility of the cleaning equipment. In this case, the Aqua Milling ®
equipment is mounted on auto propelled, remotely controlled platforms. These equipment’s
can also be used to clean in confined spaces, such as sulfur pits etc.
