AN OVERVIEW
The Department of Commerce, Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University is going to organize a One Day
National Seminar on ‘Impact of Covid 19 on Indian Economy’ on 25th January, 2021. This programme is
intended mainly for the Faculty Members, Research Scholars and Students of social sciences.

ABOUT COOCH BEHAR PANCHANAN BARMA UNIVERSITY

Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University, has been named after the great social reformer Thakur
Panchanan Barma. Panchanan Barma, also known as Thakur Panchanan and Roy Saheb, was a Rajbanshi
leader and reformer from Cooch Behar. He established Kshatriya Sabha in order to inculcate
Brahminical values and practices among the people from Rajbanshi community of this region in
particular and in Bengal in general.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE

Since inception, the department has been catering its service to all the students of UG and PG courses.
Besides teaching, the faculty members are actively engaged in research activities in the fields of
Commerce, Economics and Management.
