A beetle game
A beetle game is a traditional party game which involves drawing a beetle in parts:
Each beetle body part is represented by a number on a dice.
Each player throws the dice.
They draw the part which is associated to the number – until they complete the beetle.
Our example is a clown’s face, thus providing the children with the opportunity to use the language of the face
as they play the game and make their own clown’s face.
Resources Explanations
A dice with dots: The game sheet will help the players remember
In Teaching English to Pre-Primary Children, which face part is associated with what number.
we use dots – so the children practise counting. The number six is the ‘bonus’ number – hence a star –
which means that a child can chose any face piece
A game sheet:
to add to their clown’s face.
This can be A4 size.
