THE DIFFERENCE
1. skimming is reading rapidly to get a general overview of the
material.
2. Scanning is reading a text quickly to find specific information,
e.g. figures or names.
3. The similarities of Skimming and Scanning is that they are the
types of reading styles
4. Close reading is thoughtful, critical analysis of a text that
focuses on significant details or patterns to develop a deep,
precise understanding of the text's form, craft, meanings, etc.
5. I would choose Scanning because I don’t need to read every
single word that is written in the dictionary, I can just skip some
words and look for the specific meaning.

READING EXPERIENCE!
1. It was at the Airport in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

3. It was a Large Green-and-gold grasshopper holding itself
perfectly.

1. Promises are commitments people with strong relationships

rank higher in emotional intelligence and are more likely to stay
loyal to their commitments. Whether the commitment is to yourself
or to someone else, making a promise is a commitment that you
will keep your word. It is a commitment that reinforces trust.
2. Prohibitions are the action of forbidding something, especially
by law. Sometimes we just got to do what they want us to do,
because we can’t break the rules, sometimes we those
prohibitions that they make can be a bit too strict but still we need
to follow/do it.
3. Tell yourself to calm down and force yourself to leave the
situation. Move on.

people because mothers usually cared a lot especially to their

INTEGRATION

With the surge of information that comes my way, I will beable to

know and identify those that are useful and those that are not by
simply applying the Skimming and Scanning so that I will be able
to get the main idea and the specific important and useful details.
