II. Program Background Rationale

1. We are living in an unusual circumstances nowadays brought by COVID 19


pandemic and there are many challenges especially in the operation of different
institution like our school. As we prepare for SY 2020–2021, teachers and parents must
adapt to alternative learning modalities to ensure that we can still deliver the quality
learning to our students to achieve essential curricular goals.
2. As stated in DepEd Order (DO) No. 8, s. 2015, the Policy Guidelines in Classroom
Assessment for the K to 12 Basic Education Program, assessment should be used to
inform and improve classroom practices and promote learning outcomes.
However, in our learning delivery modality (modular), it is necessary to use alternative
tools and strategies for assessment, while avoiding creating undue pressure on the

teachers, students and their parents.


3. In addition, based on DepEd Order No. 018, S. 2020 about Policy Guidelines for
the Provision of Learning Resources in the implementation of the Basic Education
Learning Continuity Plan, the public health emergency brought about by Covid 19 calls
the DepEd to be innovative and resourceful in delivering quality , accessible , relevant
and liberating education learning continuity plan to ensure that learning opportunities
are provided to our learners in a safe manner through different learning delivery . In
line with this, the Department, through its Regional and Schools Division Offices
undertake the urgent and necessary development, production and provision of learning
resources in accordance with its mandate.
Since the implementation of modular distance learning has been delivered for the
first quarter, its effectiveness should be measured to assure the quality education. So,
learning evidence provides better results towards learning continuity as preparation for
the next quarter.

III. Program Description

Pansol Integrated National High School is composed of 66 teaching and non teaching
personnel. There are 2 teachers who are on maternity leave, 2 teachers are pregnant and on
a Work from Home (WFH). And since we have to follow the IATF protocols to ensure the
safety of school personnel, the school opted to conduct an online INSET on December 14-
18, 2020 .
With this kind of activity, the teacher-participants will be equipped with the right
knowledge on how they will conduct the assessment and grading based on the Interim
Policy Guidelines for Assessment and Grading in Light of the Basic Education Learning
Continuity Plan on the first part of the INSET. Then, the second part will be focused on the
crafting and preparation of the necessary learning materials for the upcoming second
quarter.

All the teachers of Pansol Integrated National High School are expected to participate

V. Workplace Development Objectives

The following results are expected from this INSET:


 Impact:
Well-informed teachers on the latest guidelines in assessment and grading
 Organizational outcome:
A uniform system of assessment and rating will be adapted by the teaching personnel
following the guidelines stated in the DepEd Order no. 031, s.2020.
 Outputs:
Record of learners’ output, portfolio, performance tasks as well as the
interventions/remediation and enrichment provided by the teachers
Learning materials and activities to be used in the continuation of modular print distance
learning.
 Competencies:
Ability to use/employ the interim guidelines in assessing and grading learners’ performance
and output

VI. Program Learning Objectives

TERMINAL OBJECTIVE:
 Provide an appropriate and fair assessment and grading of performance and output
of learners and give quality learning by creating learning supports and resources in
developing learners’ knowledge and skills.

ENABLING OBJECTIVES:
 Share and discuss the pertinent matters on the interim guidelines in assessment and
grading.
 Discuss the strategies to make the assessment and rating more uniform and
adaptable to all grade level without altering what is mandated in Deped Order

VII. Workplace Application Project or Job Embedded Learning

The teachers will be ready in assessing and grading the output and performance of the
learners based from the competencies they learned from the INSET. They will be more
confident and prepared in answering the questions of the learners, parents and learning
partners on how the learners rating on their activities will be assessed.

VIII. Detailed Activity Implementation Plan

For the effective implementation of this orientation, the session matrix including topics,
persons involved and the time frame to be used, please see attached sheet (Attachment B)

IX. Monitoring and Evaluation Plan

Monitoring will be done within the rating period and the evaluation after the result of the
first quarter and will be based on the discretion of the Division Chief/s.
