Cause & Effect Essay
Write a cause & effect essay (about 200 words) on ONE of the two topics:
My chosen topic is: International Travel

In this day and age, international travel is rising at a rapid speed. In this essay, I will clarify
the reason why this trend has exploded and what impact it has on society.
The preliminary reason for this trend may be higher living standards. With the improvement
of people’s material living standard, people began to pursue spiritual satisfaction. Moreover, the
average income drastically rising leads to higher demand for leisure activities; so that traveling
abroad is one of the best options that many people pick. Another driving factor of this trend is
the
Increasing traveling abroad brings not only benefits but also adverse impacts on the whole
society. On the one hand, to begin with, personal practice is the best way to learn a language,
and traveling abroad can improve your communication ability. It is an opportunity for them to
interact with the native people. You can learn a new culture and maximize the enjoyment of the
journey because foreign friends must know more about their country than we do. They would
tell us the characteristics of local culture and some interesting spots. This, as a result, increases
their experience about the roots of local cultures, new languages. Moreover, by taking part in an
overseas trip, people may have a different outlook on life. That means they can learn how to be
independent to adapt to a new environment, solve many problems with patience and
determination, and even become more grateful for the things you left behind.
On the other hand, international travel brings up tensions among the locals and travelers. This
can be seen in language barriers creating difficulty in communication and cultural differences.
Travelers might unintentionally or intentionally offend the local citizens' culture and beliefs
because of the contrast in lifestyle, culture and every aspect of lives in different countries.
In conclusion, the trend of traveling abroad definitely originates from two main causes and
not only brings up both benefits but also harms.
