The Cat ® 797F XQ (Extra Quiet) continues the tradition of Caterpillar’s
proven 797 Truck with high productivity and lowest in class cost per ton.
The 797F XQ features the following:
„ Safety and Sustainability has been enhanced. Safety is top priority.
„ Spectator Sound Levels have been lowered by as much as 9 dB(A)
when measured in accordance with the Caterpillar NVT121 Sound
Testing Standard.
„ Sound Suppression Equipped. The XQ comes with a larger muffler,
engine sound suppression panels, engine enclosure panels and other
equipment to suppress sound.
„ High Performance Engine. The Cat ® C175-20 engine offers the perfect
balance between power, robust design and economy.
„ Power Shift Transmission. Electronic Clutch Pressure Control (ECPC)
gives the 797F seven speed transmission smooth shifts while providing
constant power and efficiency for peak powertrain performance.
„ Enhanced Serviceability. Designed with improved serviceability points
and grouped service locations so more time is spent on the haul roads
and less time in the shop.
„ Reliable Mechanical Drive System. The Cat mechanical drive power
train provides unmatched operating efficiency.
„ A Variety of Cat Truck Bodies are available including four MSD II
(Mine Specific Design) body options in conjunction with a configurable
liner system to achieve the most efficient hauling solutions at the
lowest-cost-per-ton.
