I learned in this project that every manufacturing company with a design should take DFM into account
while designing a product. Design engineers should also have experience in manufacturing engineering.
They should occasionally talk to the production team. Product changes should be kept to a minimum,
per DFM. It ensures quality manufacturing right from the start. DFM has a lot of advantages like the
products made with DFM will have a lower production cost, quicker time-to-market, and parts may be
combined to reduce assembly steps and quantity of parts and it also catches and removes mistakes or
faults quickly. I also learned that QFD has four phase approach and it is designed to boost a company's
strategic competitiveness and it also prioritizes the steps that a company must take in order to meet the
customer's spoken and unspoken needs.
