This unit will focus on “pumpkins” and was designed for a 2nd grade.

Students will learn about

how pumpkins grow, their life cycle, and the parts of the pumpkin. Students will learn about

the scientific method by doing a pumpkin seed activity where they will make predictions and

observe the seeds over time. Students will also use measurement skills to make predictions on

how pumpkins will roll down a ramp. Students will keep a science notebook to log their

predictions, observations, and what they’ve learned.
