Nikita has come to you in your GP clinic with her 15 year old son named Johnny . She is very
concerned with his school performance getting worse .
Task

Hello Nikita I understand that you have come to see me . You are concerned about Johnny's
performance and school results . How are things at school. Any recent financial problems ? Is Johnny
your only child ? How is relationship with other siblings . Does Johnny's father live with you ? Has he
changed his school recently . When did you talk to his school teacher last time ?
If you don't mind I would like to talk to Johnny .
I wonder if I could ask you some personal questions.
He is newly an adult and it will be a good opportunity to learn for him how to express his problem .
Johnny , first of all , all of our conversation is private and confidential , unless someone's life or your
life is at risk.
Johnny what do you think is the reason your school performance is getting worse.
Have you been subjected to bullying at his school.
Is there something in your mind that worries you .

Johnny , lots of young people like people of same sex . The study has mentioned that 8-11
percentage of people in australia experiences same sex attraction.
Sexual and romantic relationship between people of same sex have been found in every known
culture and society.
You are going through a phase . You are trying to work out your sexual identity. It doesn't
necessarily mean you are gay. Because people sometimes experiment their sexuality . Because being
gay is natural and normal sexual identity. There is nothing to worry about it
