events of its kind bringing together professionals in the
field of Biotechnology and Biomedicines. This
conference provides a technical forum for academicians,
industrialists and researchers representing all branches
of the field related researches, developments,
technology, all converging to inspire and transform
collective knowledge into innovations. Both academia
and Industries are invited to present their research
findings in defined thrust areas for future
developments. We are looking forward for your gracious

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
The Bannari Amman Institute of Technology was
established in 1996 by the Bannari Amman Group,
serves as one of the citadels of higher education in the
Southern part of India. It is an impressive campus
situated in a serene surrounding at the foot hills of the
Nilgiris Mountains encompassing a sprawling area of
181 acres with a built – up area of more than 30 lakh
square feet green campus and presenting an exemplary
illustration of corporate contribution to society. All
eligible courses have been accredited by National Board
of Accreditation (NBA) and Institution of Engineering
Technology (IET). The institution is Re-accredited by
National Assessment and Accreditation Council
(NAAC) with a CGPA 3.36 on four-point scale with ‘A+’
Grade (2021).
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Biotechnology was established in
the year 2002. It offers B.Tech and M.Tech Biotechnology
under Anna University, Chennai. The B.Tech Industrial
Biotechnology programme was started in the year 2003
with an intake of 30 students/batch. The intake was then
increased to 60 in 2007; 60 to 120 in the year 2013 and
120 to 180 in the year 2015. The B.Tech Biotechnology
programme was re-accredited by NBA for 6 years
during 2017-18 academic year. The 2 year M.Tech.
Biotechnology programme was started in 2008-2009. The
Department of Biotechnology has been recognized as a
collaborative research centre for M.S/PhD programme
from 2008 onwards by Anna University, Chennai.
established in 2019-2020 to cater to the growing
demands for biomedical devices and procedures. With
an approved intake of 50 students in the BE Biomedical
Engineering the department aims to impart the students
with necessary skills and knowledge related to human
health; along with educating them on the uses and
application of the modern biological principles in their
