Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations in Covid
I. PATIENT
EMERGENCY ROOM
Divided in two (2) areas
a. Infectious Cases
b. Non-Infectious Cases
Patient with confirmed COVID-19 symptoms shall be placed in the isolation
room.
Cases will be divided into
a. Infectious Cases
b. Non-Infectious Cases
HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS
All admissions are required to undergo COVID_19 RT-PCR testing
All COVID-19 patients tagged as suspect are required to have an IDS
clearance.
IDS clearance is no longer required if patient tests negative upon repeat
COVID-19 RT-PCR done after completing at least 7 days of quarantine
from the first positive RT-PCR test result.
IDS clearance is required for COVID-19 recovered patients who remain
positive in RT-PCR after completing quarantine.
Chest X-rays will be required for the following patients (within 72 hours)
With respiratory symptoms
Abnormal Lung findings on physical exam
Fever at time of exam or history of fever within the last 7 days
As seen based on assessment of the physician
OUTPATIENT WITH SURGICAL PROCEDURES
Regardless of procedure type, duration, sedation and body part:
FULLY VACCINATED PATIENTS
Covid-19 testing is no longer required but may be done depending
on the assessment provided that the patients have none of
following:
a. Respiratory Symptoms
b. Exposure to patient with COVID-19
c. Fever or history of fever
PARTIALLY /UNVACCINATED PATIENT
a. COVID-19 RT-PCR tests within the last 7 days is required
PHYSICAL MEDICINE AND REHABILITATION DEPARTMENT
Thermal scanning is required.
Patients must be screened at the reception for respiratory symptoms, fever
and exposure COVID-19 prior to the procedure.
No COVID-19 testing is required prior to treatment
Negative RT-PCR and IDS clearance is required if the patient exhibits any
symptoms of COVID-19.
LABORATORY/RADIOLOGY UNITS
Thermal scanning at the hospital entrance is required.
Patient must be screened at the reception for respiratory symptoms, fever
and exposure to COVID-19 prior to the procedure.
All patients who will undergo pulmonary function test are required to
present a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test done within 7 days before the
procedure.
II. WATCHER
Only 1 watcher us allowed to stay overnight.
Limit visitors at 2 at a time with properly worn and fitted face masks at all
times.
Unvaccinated/Partially Vaccinated
a. COVID-19 RT-PCR with 7 days validity
Fully Vaccinated
a. No COVID-19 tests is required.
III. STAFF

IN-PATIENT COVID-19 WARD
Regular Room-Level 3
ICU-Level 4
IN-PATIENT NON COVID-19 WARD
Regular Room- Level 1
ICU- Level 1
OUT-PATIENT DEPARTMENT
No Invasive Procedure- Level 1
With Surgical/endoscopic intervention/ procedure- Level 3
