Type : Public

Subject Area : Reference No.

Description : Quantitative Research
Year & Section : XII – Mt. Hamiguitan
Strand : STEM

Research Objectives

This study aimed to determine the Potentiality of High Density

Polyethylene (HDPE) Plastics in Household Good Production and The Level of
Satisfaction.
Specifically, this sought answers to the following queries:
1. To describe the level of the potentiality of HDPE Plastics:
1.1 material affordability;
vii

1.2 material availability; and

1.3 potentiality
2. To describe the level of satisfaction in terms of:
2.1 durability; and
2.2 quality
3. To determine the significant relationship between the potentiality of
HDPE plastics and the level of satisfaction.
4. To determine which domain in the potentiality of HDPE plastics that
significantly predicts the level of satisfaction.

Hypotheses

The following hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance:

1. There is no significant relationship between the potentiality of HDPE
plastics and the level of satisfaction.
2. There is no domain in the potentiality of HDPE plastics that
significantly predicts the level of satisfaction.

Method

Research Design : Descriptive-Correlational

Participants : 30 Respondents
Instrument Used : Questionnaire

Statistical Tools

Mean
Correlation
Regression Analysis

Summary of the Overall Approach

Based on the problems of this study and the analysis of the data
gathered, the following findings are summarized:
viii

1. The potentiality of HDPE plastics was Very High with an overall mean
of 4.42. In terms of Material Affordability, Material Availability and Potentiality
result reveled that indicators garnered the mean 4.36, 4.47, and 4.41,
respectively.

2. The level of satisfaction was Very High with an overall mean of 4.34.
In terms of Durability as perceived by the respondents was Very High, same
with Quality, which garnered the mean 4.3 and 4.37, respectively.

3. Based on the computation at 0.05 level of significance revealed that

the computed r-value of 0.726 and obtained a p-value equal to 0.000 which
prompted the rejection of the null hypothesis of no significant relationship.

4. Based on the result shown in Table Y, potentiality yielded the highest

percentage of 71.70 among the three indicators. This means that the
potentiality of HDPE plastics in household good production that affects the level
of satisfaction is potentiality.

Conclusions
The following conclusion were drawn from the result of the study:
1. The overall mean on the Potentiality of HDPE Plastics in terms of
Material Affordability, Material Availability and Potentiality is Very High.
2. The overall mean on the Level of Satisfaction in terms of Durability
and Quality is Very High.
3. There is a significant relationship between the Potentiality of HDPE
Plastics in Household Good Production and the Level of Satisfaction.
4. The domain that is a best predictor on the Potentiality of HDPE
Plastics in Household Good Production among the three indicators was
potentiality which influences the Level of Satisfaction.

Recommendations
Based on the outcomes and implications of the study, the following are
recommended:
1. The best way to collect HDPE plastics is to inform the Local
Government Unit (LGU) specifically the Municipal Environment and Natural
ix
Resources Office (MENRO) to implement rule in each purok and barangay in
New Corella as regards to segregation of plastics according to its different
classification like PET, HDPE, LDPE, PVC, etc.
2. Encourage general public to learn further importance of recycling
different types of plastic to meet new demand.
3. Explore the other and deeper uses of HDPE plastics to reduce the
production of plastics and make it as a new alternative product in locale
considering both economic and environmental benefits.
4 The study should not be only conducted in Poblacion but also in all
Municipality.
5. Future researchers shall conduct further studies about the potentiality
of HDPE plastics.
