What is the essence of studying HISTORY as
a student?
To get where you're going, you must first understand
where you've been. It is essential. History repeats itself. Who knows, what we learn about the past now might come in handy later. In all cases, understanding History is essential to having a good understanding of the human condition. This allows people to build and, if necessary, change on a solid foundation. Neither of these options is feasible without a thorough understanding of the context and starting points. All living things exist in the here-and-now, but it took a long time for everything to get to this point. And that history is situated in time-space, which is what holds the universe together and frames both the past and the present. Well, history does repeat itself, and it's best to be prepared for it by knowing the outcomes of previous instances and being able to make educated decisions based on these that will help to a greater extent in the long run. It assists us in resolving any problems that may arise in the future. So, before you do anything, learn about the history or the past. ______________ Name: Lady Mheliza C. Why Prof Xiao Chua explain that according to Prof
Zeus Salazar, "History/kasaysayan na may SAYSAY ay may katuturan, kabuluhan at kahalagahan?" Explain.
While a historian's biases and opinions may
influence the writing of history, as Prof. Xiao Chua stated, it is still based on methodology and evidence. Prof Chua interprets Prof Salazar's statement, saying that HISTORY is a STORY about past events that give meaning and significance in our society and culture. He means that history is the story of our past selves. It is a past event story that becomes history because it helped shape us and can still be seen today. It depicts the evolution of our culture from the past to the present and is supported by solid evidence and witnesses that it occurred in the past.
