PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

FEVITITE RAPID & CLEAR is a two component fast setting epoxy adhesive.This multipurpose two
component system comprises of Epoxy resin and speciality hardener which are to be mixed thoroughly in the
recommended ratio to achieve optimum results. FEVITITE RAPID & CLEAR is pretty fast setting and hence
does not require fixtures to hold together the components to be bonded. FEVITITE RAPID & CLEAR is a
thermosetting system which means, the resin and hardener on mixing cure by polymerization to a rigid
thermoset mass which on heating may soften but shall not melt and flow. This system does not contain
volatile matter such as solvent or water and hence there is negligible shrinkage on curing.
FEVITITE RAPID & CLEAR is an excellent tool in DIY (Do It Yourself) kit.

Products Features: -
 Excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates, virtually anything to anything. These substrates
include all Metals, Metal alloys, Ferrous/non Ferrous castings, China ware, Ceramics, Glass, Marble,
Granite, Variety of Artificial Stones, Leather, Wood, Hardboard, Cement-Concrete, Most Plastics viz.
Rigid PVC, Filled/unfilled ABS, Polystyrene, Epoxy/Polyester FRP, Polycarbonate, Phenol-
Formaldehyde (Bakelite) molded parts, decorative /Industrial Laminates, Powder coated metal,
Asbestos, Cork, Ferrite, etc. Negligible shrinkage on curing and hence good dimensional stability.
 Rapid setting eliminates the need of fixtures to hold the assembly during cure. This makes it very
useful in repair of certain objects where a fixture is not practically possible.
 The glue-line in colourless & transparent and hence this product qualifies for the application that
calls for transparent bond such as glass-glass.

APPLICATION AREAS:
FEVITITE RAPID & CLEAR is a multipurpose adhesive finding extensive applications in miniature industry
where small components are to be assembled or bonded. It is useful for fast processes on shop-floors,
emergency repairs in critical areas like leaking pipes, leaking tanks seams, fractured sumps and other similar
applications. It is very useful in repair of broken glass crystal ware due to the transparent and invisible glue-
line. It is not recommended for large area applications due to its short usable life. Due to its rapid setting
property it is a preferred adhesive of household DIY segment.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

1. Substrate Preparation : The strength and durability of bonded joint are dependent on proper pre-
treatment of substrates to be bonded. At the very least surfaces to be joined should be cleaned with a good
degreasing agent such as Acetone or Trichloroethylene in order to remove all traces of oil, grease, rust, dust,
etc from the surface.

2. Mixing of RESIN and HARDENER : Generally Resin and Hardener shall be mixed in equal proportion by
volume.

3. APPLICATION OF ADHESIVE : Apply a thin layer of the mixture on the precleaned and dry surfaces to be
joined, using a spatula. An adhesive layer of 0.05 to 0.10 mm thickness shall normally impart the highest lap
shear strength. Soon after the application of the adhesive, the components are to be positioned (aligned) and
pressed together. Handling Strength is achieved in about 10 minutes of bonding .

WATER RESISTANCE: Very good.

DO’S AND DONT’S:

 Not recommended for bonding components with large area.
 Please note that Plastics like PTFE, Polyethylene, Polypropylene cannot be bonded without
appropriate specialized surface treatment.
 Do not mix large quantity at a time.
 At a time, take small quantity just sufficient for one bond or which can be consumed in 1-2 minutes.
 Never add less hardener to slow down the curing process.
 Do not dilute with solvent to lower the viscosity. This will severely affect the bond strength.
 Replace the respective caps of Resin & Hardener tubes whenever they are not in use.
 Wipe off the excess oozed quantity from the bond area, when the adhesive is wet.
 Not recommended for bonding precious stones such as real diamond etc.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS : This is a non-flammable product. Generally epoxies on cure are non-toxic. The resin
component is non-toxic; hardener may cause irritation to sensitized skin. However hands should be cleaned
with Cleansing cream or with soap and water. Please do not use organic solvents for cleaning hands. All tools
and equipment should be cleaned with solvents such as Acetone, before adhesive residue cures. The removal
of cured residues is very difficult and time consuming. Dis-assembly of wrongly bonded components is very
difficult but in certain cases controlled heat or solvent like DMF may be used to separate the parts.

STORAGE & SHELF LIFE: Store in a cool (<30 Deg C) and dry place. Under such storage conditions the shelf
life of the product is minimum 36 months in sealed unopened tubes.
