Script Commentaries

WRITING AO4 (/27 marks) & AO5 (/18 marks). Maximum marks 45.

Q7: The task is to write a leaflet giving advice to young people on how to choose a career.

Script Commentaries Mark

S1 The candidate has some grasp of purpose, and there is AO4 L2 – 8
straightforward use of form and tone but this response, marks
though communicating in a broadly appropriate way is
limited in clarity of expression so best-fit places it AO5 L2 – 5
midway within Level 2 for AO4. It is similarly placed for marks
AO5 as there is some accurate spelling but some
awkward syntax.

S2 This response addresses the reader straight away at AO4 L4 – 18

the start and looks at some of the key aspects of marks
choosing a career. Communication is always clear and
the secure realisation of purpose just lifts this into Level AO5 L4 – 11
4 for AO4. All of Level 3 criteria for AO5 are met and so marks
a mark at the top of the level has been awarded.
