Lessons learned in ND Tourney
By Mike Brandt
You might say that the Glasgow volleyball team learned
some valuable lessons while participating in the Dickinson,
North Dakota Tournament held Friday and Saturday.
The Scotties went into the tournament without starters
Carly Nelson and Ava Lloyd. First-year coach Brooke

Thursday, September 29th at 6:00 PM to do that and they did learn some valuable lessons.

“At least now we have girls that have played varsity ball.
You never know when someone might turn an ankle,” said
Martin. “We played six matches in 24 hours. They played
a ton of volleyball in a very short time. And they did gain
some confidence. Tessa had some really great blocks, JoJo

good digs. If we need them down the road that will help us.”
Glasgow also lost to Glen Ullin-Hebron, 25-21, 25-19
and 15-8, and to Watford City, 27-25, 25-23 and 8-15.
Saturday in tournament play the Scotties were swept
by New England, 25-15 and 27-25. Glasgow bounced back
to defeat Killdeer, 17-25, 25-18 and 17-15. That win put
the Scotties into the third place match against Richardton-

finish third in the Silver Bracket.
Martin thought Glen Ullin played for the championship
in the Gold Bracket.

to get a couple of wins. The girls are seeing that success and
