How To Get Access To Hidden Letters
How To Get Access To Hidden Letters
All my fonts are PUA encoded that means that all fonts include additional
characters that ARE accessible via any program which supports fonts. In this
instruction I'll show you how you can get access to hidden letters in different
programs (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Word, Pages and Canva).
Here is a font I recently launched on Creative Market called Le Grand. When typed
out normally, this font will display as follows -
Though this name is still very beautiful, its missing all of those amazing characters
you saw in the preview images, right?
The first thing to do is install the fonts. To learn how to do this, please read my
“How to Install Font” guide located in your zip file too.
Adobe Photoshop
Once installed, you will need to open Adobe Photoshop, type your text using my
font and then go to the panel Window > Glyphs. Scrolling down all characters you
can choose needed Alternate Letter or Ligature. Use double click to paste letter.

1. Open Canva and upload the font to your collection. Or install the font as you
usually do if want to work with Word.
3. Search for a program «Font Book» typing its name in the search field.
4. Open Font Book and click View on top of your screen, then choose
«Repertoire». You’ll see all the characters included in the font that you select.
5. Simply click on the character you wish to use. Click Edit > Copy (or CMD +

4. Open the application and in the “Font” dropdown, select the font you want to
use and make sure the “Advanced View” box is checked.
6. In the “Group By” menu that opened on the right side, scroll to the bottom and
select “Private Use Characters”.
7. After that on the left side you’ll be able to see all the PUA encoded characters.

That’s all!
If you still can’t find the alternative letters or ligatures in your program, please
