1. You will be listening to a lecture on how to be successful in life. What will you do in order to grasp everything that the lecturer gives?
I will get my mind in the right space. I will prepare myself and eliminate distractions. Look for signals and listen for what is not being said while sorting the
information I can get by taking down notes and after that asking questions for some clarification.
2. You are known in your place as a successful person worthy of emulation. Your Alma Mater invites you to be a commencement speaker to inspire the
graduates. How do you prepare yourself for possible semantic barriers?
Firstly, I will know your audience and address of all of them properly and know what the commencement address is and is not about. I will not dwell on the past, or get
too technical and I will never attack the graduates for the past or present sins of our profession also, balance the serious with the humorous. I will avoid over-quoting,
miracle-cure anecdotes, and money-talk. Finally, I will keep it brief and keep it lively.
