Questions

1. Accompanying material ( Are there useful supplementary materials? )

Workbook.
Tapes-audio and/or video.
Posters, flashcards,etc.
A set of test.
The book that I have evaluated has a tape- audio and video to support the written
part( grammar) of the book, it contains unity by unity with the pronunciation and
explanation of the topics. This extra material is very useful to develop every unity step by
step to reach the goal of learning.

2. Sequencing( how is the book sequence?)

By grammatical structure
By school
By situation
By some combination of the above
The sequence of this book is organized by some combination of the above and more
aspects that makes this book useful and full of knowledge for all students of this level of
the course. Every unite is divided in the following sections:
 Vocabulary
 Grammar
 Listening
 Writing
 Culture
 Project
 Review
 Just for fun

3. Goals of the course (Will this textbook help to accomplish your course goals?)
During the stage using this textbook the owner has accomplished the goal of every section
(unity). Not only at grades the student will improve ,the students will reach the goals ,then
students will understand, then will apply what she/ he has learned so far. In my opinion
the book contains the basic topics and lesson, it means that every students will be able to
use that knowledge and improved at grammar, the use of vocabulary and speaking. The
only aspect that teachers need to practice listening at the same level of the other skills.

4. Language skills ( Does the book integrate the four skills? Is there a balanced approach
toward the skills? Does the textbook emphasize skills which the curriculum also
emphasized?)
This book has the four skills that all course books need, at grammar it is complete, at
reading there are a lot of interesting topics and reading about culture in every unity, at
speaking it contains enough information, glossaries and vocabularies but at listening it is
necessary to take a device to play the CD to listening to the pronunciation and guide the
class with that extra material.

5. Teacher’s guide(Is it useful?)

This book has an interesting set of exercises ( review) that can improve the learning
process , it is useful due to every section has glossary that can help the non native
teachers to improve the class they can use it as a guide to explain.
The methodological guide is divided in three parts the introduction of every lesson, the
skills, and the written part, unity by unity.
At the end of the last unity is the textbook part with a list of answer keys of the 8 sections,
in addition the book has a list of 122 verbs in present tense and past tense.
