Generators operating independently of the supply In this mode of operation the generating plant should

be the only source of supply to an installation. If there is only one machine, both protective and supply
system earthing should be achieved by connecting the generator neutral, the generator frame and
exposed-conductive-parts and extraneous-conductive-parts to a main earthing terminal and by the use
of an independent earth electrode. Where two or more generators are operating in parallel,
neutral/earth circulating currents should be dealt with by the methods described in 7.2.6
