Why it is important to perform experiments 7 to 12 and what you have learned about
the experiments.

From the experiment 7 which is the Full-wave Bridge Rectifier, it is important

to know how to perform this kind of experiment because we need to determine the
effects of reversing the connection of the diodes to the polarity of the output voltage and
an open-circuited diode. I have learned about this activity is that reversing the diodes
will just change the polarity of DC output; that is, what was the negative terminal
becomes the positive terminal and the positive become the negative.

In experiment 8, the diode clipper and clamper circuit, it is important to perform

because we need to find out the effects of varying the values of certain components
to the output waveform of the two circuits. I have learned about this activity is be
familiarized with the operation of a basic diode clipping and clamping circuits. Also,
the circuit arrangement of clamper is alike to the diode limiter or clipper circuits. But
the difference is that with the diode and resistance clamper circuits have an additional
capacitor. The capacitor provides the dc component from the charged stored on its
plates.

Experiment 9, The voltage multiplier, it is important to perform because we need

to prove experimentally the operation of a full wave voltage multiplier. What I have
learned about this activity is that it permits greater voltages to be generated from a low
voltage power source without the use of a costly high voltage transformer since the
voltage double circuit allows a lower step-up ratio transformer to be used.

Experiment 10, Zener Diode, it is important to perform because we need to

create or construct a Zener diode voltage regulator and to determine its regulating
effectiveness. I have learned about this activity is that If the voltage is greater than the
breakdown voltage, current can flow not only in the forward direction as in a typical
silicon or germanium diode, but also in the reverse direction.
Experiment 11, Transistors Familiarization and Testing, it is important to perform
because we need to determine the junction resistances, Base Emitter, Base collector
and emitter collector resistance to develop a diode model of a transistor. I have learned
about this activity is that It allows you to change the intensity of a much smaller current
flowing through a second channel to control the flow of current through one channel.

Experiment 12, Transistor Biasing, it is important to perform because it allows a

transistor to operate in both analog and digital modes. BJT amplifiers fail to generate
the needed output across load terminals without transistor biasing. Two times the
needed AC output voltage peak is the best figure for transistor bias voltage. I have
learned about the activity is that I became familiarized with the transistor biasing.
