Down hole sampling

Our experience and expertise gives us the ability

Our Single Phase Sampler (SPS) collects a hydrocarbon

sample and maintains the material at greater pressure
than reservoir conditions. This ensures total
monophasic sample integrity from down hole to surface.
The SPS system is recognised worldwide and has
revolutionised representative reservoir sampling by
ensuring that the sample never breaks out of its phase
envelope prior to analysis. High sample accuracy leads
to the best possible indication of the well fluids.

The Proserv Positive Displacement Sampler (PDS) allows

the user to capture representative reservoir fluid
samples when single phase sampling is not a priority.
Engineering, high quality manufacture and a strong track
record ensure that valuable samples are guaranteed.

PDS and SPS samplers can be provided as part of

comprehensive packages which deliver complete
exploration sampling solutions and contribute to the
analysis of existing wells.

Proserv samplers can be run on wireline (slick or

electric). Swivel joints make certain that our samplers are
able to operate successfully in tight or deviated wells. We

Sample cylinders
As a company we pride ourselves on our ability to design
and engineer for the safe and reliable containment and
transportation of oilfield samples. One of our main areas of
expertise is the production of a wide range of sample
cylinders for the exploration and production sampling
markets.

Proserv has dedicated over 30 years of expertise to the

manufacture of cylinders. It is one of the core strengths
that has made us so respected within today’s oil and gas
industry.

Meeting sample transportation needs

We produce a comprehensive range of standard and

custom built sample cylinders and our range is available for
rental as well as purchase. These products can be serviced
and maintained by our workshop and dedicated service
programs can be initiated for client needs.

The cylinders can be supplied with transportation boxes for

the safe shipment of pressurised samples and are delivered
complete with European PED, United States DOT or
Canadian TC certification where applicable. Liquid sample
cylinder configuration can be tailored to suit customer
specifications and our designs comprise; pistons, volume
indicators, valves, safety valves, mixing balls and pressure
gauges.

Certification
Proserv sample cylinders are provided with
all appropriate certification from hydrostatic
pressure testing to design code specification and
authentication. Sample cylinders are certified for
transport in all regions such the United States,
Europe and Canada (European/DOT/Canadian
certification).

Experienced Proserv technicians are trained in the
servicing and recertification of all types of sampling
equipment. Proserv Oil and Gas Sampling are a fully
certified body capable of carrying out the in-service
inspection of cylinders for rental and sale. Dedicated
workshop facilities provide us with excellent means of
servicing products returned from the field and ensure
that vital equipment is not kept offline for longer
than is absolutely necessary. Proserv engineers are
professionals with years of experience and we can
make the difference in a demanding climate where
time is money.

 Sampling systems
We have extensive knowledge related to the manufacture
of precision sampling systems for the oil and gas
industry, delivering bespoke designs to meet specific
customer requirements. Specialist project teams provide
comprehensive engineering solutions which ensure all
sampling programmes are delivered on time, within
budget and to the clients’ satisfaction.

Sampling systems are manufactured in modern, purpose

built production facilities which are fully QHSE compliant.
These workshops provide premises where Proserv can
build systems in a ‘clean room’ environment.

ProMix – homogenising equipment

For allocation purposes the determination of water in oil is a
critical analysis parameter. Samples must be homogenised
prior to examiniation for the accuracy of results.

The design of the ProMix system makes this possible as it

complies with the Institute of Petroleum standard IP386,
British Petroleum’s homogenisation standard and the ISO
standard 3171/88 for pipeline samples.

Automatic in line sampling system

This is a cost-effective solution for liquid hydrocarbon,
condensate and gas sampling.

Manual Sampling System

This innovative sampling bench collects spot samples from
different sampling points on the offshore platform. A ventilation
pump evacuates the remaining gases, ensuring the operator
is not at risk from hazardous materials. Both pressurised and
non pressurised samples can be taken and the bench can be
adjusted to different heights in order to make the process more
efficient.
