EasiDrive portable actuator

The Sofis EasiDrive portable actuator allows an operator to

open and close high torque, multi turn valves efficiently.

The tool is fully portable and can be moved from valve to

valve to ease operation, therefore reducing fatigue and
injury risk.

Each valve is fitted with a customised reaction kit, which

further protects the operator from the kick typically
associated with torque tools.

As a single EasiDrive portable actuator can be used to

operate a bank of valves, it can significantly reduce CAPEX
as it removes the requirement for permanent dedicated
actuators.

Models

Pneumatic EasiDrive capable of delivering up to 950Nm of output

ED
torque.

Electric EasiDrive available with a 110V AC or 240V AC (50/60Hz)

EDE
electrical supply and output torque of 550Nm.

Classifications
As standard, EasiDrive models are non ATEX approved. Upon request, the ED can be upgraded to
ATEX Directive 94/9/EC Approval for use in zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 – class 2

Pneumatic ED (ED1, ED5, ED10) Specifications

The ED is a hand held non-impacting, pneumatic portable actuator designed to efficiently and safely
operate a valve/s. Torque is controlled by regulating air pressure via a Filter Regulator Lubrication
(FRL) Pack. The recommended air pressure is determined by a supplied calibration certificate.

ED must always be operated with:

• FRL (available separately)
• Lubrication oil (available separately)
• Minimum of ½” bore air hose
• Clean and dry air supply with a minimum flow of 1140 litres/minute (40 cfm)
• Reaction kit (available separately)

Electric EDE6 Specification

The EDE is a hand held non-impacting, electric portable actuator designed to efficiently and safely
operate valves. Torque is controlled by adjusting torque setting dials on the torque tool and are
determined using the supplied calibration certificate.

ED must always be operated with

• 110V AC or 240V AC electric supply, 50/60Hz (dependent upon model purchased)
• Reaction Kit (available separately)

Mounting and Reaction Kit Configurations

There are four customised mounting and reaction kit configurations available to suit rising stem
and gearbox operated valves. The reaction kits are manufactured using 316 stainless steel.
