SPOKEN POETRY COMPETITION

MECHANICS/GUIDELINES

1. Spoken poetry is a performance art that is word based. It is an oral art that focuses on the aesthetics of word play such
as intonation and voice inflection.
2. The contest is open to all Junior high school and Senior High School students of Quezon National High School.
3. Each grade level shall have 3 contestants.
4. The piece must be an original Composition and related to the theme. It should be written in Filipino.
5. Participants need to submit a pdf copy of their piece and a 3-4 minute video delivering his/her piece
6. The spoken poetry must be delivered from memory and any movement is confined onstage.
7. The contestants are encouraged to wear school uniform on the competition.
8. Sounds, background music is allowed to complement the delivery. No deduction shall be made if the contestants opts not to
have a musical background.
9. Name of participant must be clearly mentioned on the file name of the output.

ii. For the 3-4 Minute Video: SPV_ CARMELAPADILLO_G10DAO
1. The school level winners will receive the following:
1st Place P500.00+ Certificate of Recognition
2 Place

P300.00+ Certificate of Recognition
3rd Place P200.00+ Certificate of Recognition

B. The contestants will be judged using the following criteria:

MESSAGE/CONTENT (Relevance to the theme) 40%

DELIVERY AND PERFORMANCE 35%

MEMORIZATION 10%

VOICE VARIATION AND PROJECTION 15%

TOTAL 100
