Synopsis: Lahoriye is the story of love. The love which does not see boundaries, the love
which does not see nations. Kikar Singh (Amrinder Gill) is a clerk at DTO office and his
family holds a piece of land which is right at the LOC. The people living in Border areas are
familiar with the situation. Right across the land in Pakistan is a Kinnow farm where
Ameeran (Sargun Mehta) works and live with her family. Kikar falls for Ameeran and slowly
slowly even Ameeran falls for Kikar. What follows next is a tale of romance which is worth
watching on the big screen

Review: Very close to reality, Lahoriye softly brushes on the emotions that our grandparents
conveyed to us through their partition stories. Though we've always heard them and felt
sorry over their plight but deep down, after seeing Lahoriye, this one feeling that has
suddenly erupted is that some houses and hidden treasures are surely still awaiting their
true owners, be it in India or in Pakistan. Political borders have left many with nothing but
memories of those days gone by.
Lahoriye is the story of a clerk named Kikkar Singh (Amrinder Gill) and Ameera (Sargun
Mehta) who fall in love across the borders and portrayed that Love has no boundaries and
also proved that if it’s true then it will definitely find a way to be together and in the movie
both the lovers faced many hardships but they managed to marry each other in the end.
Amrinder Gill has yet again proved that his soft, cute image works best for him and he is
pretty natural as Kikkar Singh and the chemistry he's shared with Ameeran(Sargun Mehta)
was so beautiful and innocent.
The path of the story seemed to be a smooth with mild difficulties which would be sorted
afterwards.
A special mention has to be made here for an actor who was excellent in his role. I am
talking about Yuvraj Hans. Too good a choice for his character. His dialogues made his
character way to close to an original from that soil. Nimrat Khaira makes her debut with
Lahoriye and she does well in a small role.

Supporting cast comprises of a lot of very very talented actors. All of them have performed to
their potential or even better. The likes of Sardar Sohi, Nirmal Rishi & Guggu Gill are
veterans and even today they try and raise the bar with each film. Guggu Gill was special.
Other names comprised in the cast were Rajiv Thakur, Hobby Dhaliwal, Gagan Mehra,
Balwinder Bullet, Sandeep Malhi, Balwinder Begowal and many more.

But, the scene where both the old friends meet, towards the end, could have been a little
more dramatic. The whole sequence of homecoming and haveli finding makes one teary
eyed but the tears seem to dry out in no time when they hug each other.

Amberdeep as a director has lived up to the expectations as the direction and screenplay
was awesome.

Music and Background Score was composed by Jatinder Shah. The album comprises of 7
songs which have been released so far. Each and every song of the film is brilliant and is a
part of my playlist. Be it Akhar, Chunni, Jeondeyan Ch, Janjhan, Paani Ravi Da or even Gutt
Ch Lahore. All of them are fantastic. Gutt Ch Lahore & Jeondeyan Ch would be highly
recommended along with the others.

Overall, Lahoriye is a very satisfying family film that will make you feel like going back in time
and getting those who've left for their heavenly abode a visa to visit their motherland atleast
once before they breathe their last. If not more then you'll atleast feel a tiny pinch in your
heart for those who were left homeless during those unfortunate times.
