PEP BAND / CONCERTS

Due to all the uncertainty

surrounding COVID and sports
seasons, concert dates and the
pep band schedule will be
announced later this year. As of
right now, no concerts are
scheduled in December.

Welcome back to school! I’d like to reiterate what you’ve
heard over and over again, I’m sure glad to be back in school
and hopefully you are as well! (I’m also super pumped to be
your band teacher again this year!) Band will look a bit
different this year but I’m excited that I still get to make
music with you, even if it is with half the band in hybrid to
start off with. As the saying goes, this too shall pass!

Band Handbook Masks

A copy of the handbook will
be sent home with students on
the second week of class.

any questions. Return the
signed back page by the end
of September.
Guess what, even your instrument gets to wear a mask this
year in band! Instrument masks will be provided by the school
and every instrument bell will need to be masked in class.
Players will also need to wear masks. The school will provide
surgical masks for class but students can also make their own
player’s masks for class. Band class will be in the Arts & Events
Center to accommodate spacing between musicians.

Tour
Ms. Salmonson is in the process of planning a tour with grades
11 and 12 to make up for the 2020 Music tour that was
cancelled. Letters regarding tour were send home in late
August. Contact Ms. Salmonson if you did not receive a letter
or would like more information regarding the potential for a
music tour this year.
Contests
Students in grades 9-12th have the opportunity to participate
and compete in both solo and ensemble contest. More info to
come regarding MSHSL contest participation this year.
