Sing of Savior crucified;
How upon the cross a victim
Vanquishing in death he died.
Canta pues, oh lengua mia,
La batalla del Senor
Que resuenen alabanazas
En honor dl vencedor.
Como conquistó la muerte,
Nuestro santo redentor.

O God, who have called us to participate
in this most sacred Supper,
in which your Only Begotten Son,
when about to hand himself over to death,
entrusted to the Church a sacrifice
new for all eternity, the banquet of his love,
grant, we pray, that we may draw
from so great a mystery,
the fullness of charity and of life.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you

LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST

PREPARATION OF THE GIFTS

Presider:
The Church encourages us this night
to bring gifts for the poor.
Each year St. Nicholas designates
a ministry or organization as the recipient
of our Holy Thursday collection.
This year our offering will benefit the work
of Pastoral Migratoria’s mission.
Please be generous.

Hermanas y hermanos,
let us pray that all that we give

on this holy night
for the poor of our community
and the world,
may, with our bread and wine,
be acceptable to God, the Father almighty.
PRAYER OVER THE GIFTS

Concédenos, Señor,
participar dignamente en esta eucaristía,
porque cada vez que celebramos el
memorial de la muerte de tu Hijo,
se realiza la obra de nuestra redención.
Por Jesucristo, nuestro Señor. Amén.

THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER

Preface: Holy Thursday

The Lord be with you. And with your spirit.
Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the
Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.
It is right and just.

It is truly right and just, our duty

and our salvation,
always and everywhere to give you thanks,
Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,
through Christ our Lord.

For he is the true and eternal priest,

who instituted the pattern
of an everlasting sacrifice
and was the first to offer himself
as the saving victim,
commanding us to make this offering
as his memorial.

As we eat his flesh that was sacrificed for

us,
we are made strong,
Rev. March 8, 2021
9
and, as we drink his blood
that was poured out for us,
we are washed clean.

And so, with angels and archangels,

with thrones and dominions,
and with all the hosts and powers of heaven,
we sing the hymn of your glory,
as without end we acclaim:

Holy, holy, holy… / Santo, santo, santo…

Rev. March 8, 2021

10
You are indeed holy, O Lord,
and all you have created
rightly gives you praise,
for through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ,
by the power and working of the Holy
Spirit,
you give life to all things
and make them holy,
and you never cease to gather a people
to yourself,
so that from the rising of the sun
to its setting
a pure sacrifice may be offered to your
name.

So now we gather here before you,

and in communion with the whole church
and gathered by the Holy Spirit,
we celebrate this most holy night
when, after washing the feet of his disciples,
the Lord Jesus reclined at the table
and gave us his body and his blood
as true food and drink.

Rev. March 8, 2021

11
Therefore, O Lord, we humbly implore you:
by the same Spirit graciously make holy
these gifts we have brought to you
for consecration,
that they may become the body and + blood
of your Son our Lord Jesus Christ,
at whose command we celebrate
these mysteries.

For on the night he was betrayed,

that is, this very night,
he himself took bread,
and, giving you thanks, he said the blessing,
broke the bread and gave it to his disciples,
saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU,

AND EAT OF IT:
FOR THIS IS MY BODY,
WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.

Rev. March 8, 2021

12
In a similar way, he took the chalice,
and, giving you thanks, he said the blessing,
and gave the chalice to his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU,

AND DRINK FROM IT:
FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE
OF MY BLOOD,
THE BLOOD OF THE NEW
AND ETERNAL COVENANT,
WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT
FOR YOU AND FOR MANY
FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.

Do this in memory of me.

The mystery of faith.

We proclaim… / Anunciamos…

Así, pues, Padre,

Rev. March 8, 2021

13
al celebrar ahora el memorial
de la pasión salvadora de tu Hijo,
de su admirable resurrección
y ascensión al cielo,
mientras esperamos su venida gloriosa,
te ofrecemos, en esta acción de gracias,
el sacrificio vivo y santo.

Dirige tu mirada sobre la ofrenda

de tu Iglesia,
y reconoce en ella la Víctima
por cuya inmolación
quisiste devolvernos tu amistad,

confiamos obtener siempre tu ayuda.

a nuestro Obispo Blas,

A nuestros hermanos difuntos
y a cuantos murieron en tu amistad
recíbelos en tu reino,
donde esperamos gozar todos juntos
de la plenitud eterna de tu gloria,
por Cristo, Señor nuestro,
por quien concedes al mundo
todos los bienes.

Por Cristo, con él y en él,

a ti, Dios Padre omnipotente,
en la unidad del Espíritu Sano,
todo honor y toda gloria
por los siglos de los siglos.
AMEN.

COMMUNION RITE

LORD’S PRAYER
Dios,
we join our many languages of prayer into
one voice and pray as Jesus taught:

Padre nuestro/Our Father. . .

Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil,
graciously grant peace in our days,
that, by the help of your mercy,
we may be always free from sin
and safe from all distress,
as we await the blessed hope
and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
For the kingdom/Porque tuyo...

Rev. March 8, 2021

17
Rite of Peace
Señor Jesucristo, que dijiste a tus apóstoles:
“La paz les dejo, mi paz les doy”,
no tomes en cuenta nuestros pecados,
sino la fe de tu Iglesia
y, conforme a tu palabra,
concédenos la paz y la unidad.
Tú que vives y reinas
por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.

The peace of the Lord

be with you always.
Let us share a sign of peace.

BREAKING OF THE BREAD
Lamb of God (sung)

Behold the Lamb of God,

behold him who takes away
the sins of the world.
Lord, I am not worthy
that you should enter under my roof,
but only say the word and my soul shall be
healed.
 Corporal and bowl remain on altar during communion.
 After assembly has received, all consecrated bread is placed in
ciborium on altar. The presider moves to the chair.

After communion, presider and assembly remain standing.

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION

Señor, tú que nos permites

disfrutar en esta vida
de la cena instituida por tu Hijo,
concédenos participar también
del banquete celestial en tu reino.
Por Jesucristo, nuestro Señor. Amén.

TRANSFER OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST
Presider (from the chair):
My sisters and brothers,
we begin our paschal fast
and continue this liturgy of three days,
through Good Friday and Holy Saturday.
Let us be bread for each other in these days
and so discover the joy of offering ourselves
as did the Lord Jesus.

This year, as the Blessed Sacrament is

carried to the chapel of repose, we ask you
to remain in your places, keeping your
distance and keeping your masks on. If you
wish to move to another place in the church
after others have left, please continue to
observe social distancing and follow the
guidance of the reopening team, who will be
in church to keep everyone safe. The church
will remain open until 11:00 for adoration

please do so in silence.

humeral veil on the presider’s shoulders.
 Presider goes to the altar and takes the bowl containing the Blessed
Sacrament and lifts it up.

 Handbells give cue for beginning of “Pange Lingua”:

PROCESSION

 Led by the sacristan swinging the thurible gently, going the short
route toward the font, the presider carries the Blessed Sacrament to
the tabernacle.
 Remain in adoration as long as each sees fit.
