TITLE
PEC CAP-STONE EXPO 2022 HELD AT FALETTI’S HOTEL.

INTRODUCTION
Engineering Capstone Expo (ECE-2022) is a series of competitions, organized by the Pakistan Engineering
Council, among the engineering students of public and private sector universities across Pakistan to
showcase their research skills, technologies, and Final Year Design Projects (FYDPs) focusing on industrial
solutions and societal problems.
As we all know that, “Novel challenges require smart solutions; societal problems cannot be handled
without integrating technology. Engineering Capstone EXPO has provided students and faculty members
a platform to offer tech-driven solutions to the societal and industrial problems”
Due to the limited opportunities and incongruence of our degrees with the industrial needs, our graduates
were either unaware of the modern industrial problems and their solutions or find few chances to prove
their potential. There was a need to patronize their talent and provide them opportunities to showcase it to
the industry. This Expo would catch the attention of the local industry and would provide an opportunity to
see the potential of our students and help bridge the widening gap between industry and academia.
Many students would participate in these competitions organized at each of the four provincial capitals and
federal capital. The winners of the competitions would be recognized with rewards and certificates both
from the PEC as well as the industry.

OBJECTIVE
To analyze the projects and to get ideas for our FYDP projects, understanding the market demands and
trends of technology and apply the concepts in our work, to make sure our projects are following market
trends and meeting the technological requirements of the market.

PROPOSED PROJECTS RELATED TO OUR DOMAIN

➢ Enabling Industry 4.0 For Equipment Development to Monitor a Machine System.
➢ Automatic Fault Detection Intimation and Tracking in Power Distribution System
➢ Development of Multipurpose Numerical Relay for power Transformer and Load shifting Model.
➢ Machine learning and use of AI in existing systems making them smart and advance.

PROJECT RELATED TO OUR FYDP

Smart fault detection and control of electrical machines using machine learning. The concept was
implemented on an air conditioner.

CONCLUSION
We have seen different projects relevant to our field which was really helpful in gaining knowledge about
technological advancements of the field but also helped in our FYDP project, also we came to know about
what market trends are being followed by other universities so using the knowledge we can learn and
implement on our project and could meet the market demand.
