1. Why would ethics be important to a company like J.M. Smucker?

How can its focus

on values and ethics improve its business performance?

Ethics is a person’s belief on about what constitutes right and wrong behavior. The J.M.
Smucker Company is concerned with the values of the employees because it shows how
ethical the company is when making big decisions. According to the article, acting
ethically is a key to success. It manipulates the performance of the company on how well-
trained the employees are when it comes to values. If a dilemma is faced by a company,
employees are required to act ethically no matter how rough consumers, or the scenario
is. Controlling of emotions is very important because each word that we say may mean
something to another person or might affect the relationship of the other.

because your reputation is at stake. Example, you’ve done many good things for the
company, but one mistake may destroy your image as an employer. It is beneficial

3. Do J.M. Smucker's values and culture appeal to you as a potential employee? Why

or why not?

My answer is Yes, because I could relate my life to the article as an individual who
learned a lot of things from the past. One way of making a decision that hit me is the
golden rule, “Treat others as you would like to be treated”. It shows how an act can
greatly affect the relationship with others. J.M. Smucker’s values and culture are very
